Everette Baldridge, a contemporary callmaker from Hardy, Arkansas, made this eight paneled checkered call (4 up and 4 down) as a tribute to Claude Stone. Joe Stone, Hornersville, Missouri
This fine pair of calls was made by Joe Stone of Hornersville, Mo. Joe was the son of the famous Claude Stone. The fancy checkered call features a mahogany barrel checkered in the Claude Stone manner and bears the characteristic scroll "S". The uncheckered call has a walnut barrel. Both calls have walnut stoppers and both are stamped "JOE STONE" on top of the flat shoulder. These calls are very difficult to find, so here is your chance to add significant rare calls to your collection.

Robert M. Reeves of Virginia made this fine checkered call in the style of the Johnny Marsh call of Reelfoot Lake fame. Reeves, originally from Brownsville, TN, plans to return to the Volunteer state after retiring in a couple of years.

This call is stamped "MFD BY, FRED HARLOW, NEWARK, OHIO" on the finished walnut barrel. It has a characteristic and proper oil finished stopper. This call appears to be an all original metal reed duck call by one-half of the famous Kinney and Harlow team. Originally came from the stock of an old gun shop in Illinois. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a mint example of this call. Only a handfull of these calls is known to exist. Reference: Duck Calls and Other Game Calls, Brian J. Charles W. Grubbs, Illinois, Mississippi, Texas
Charles W. Grubbs made this Perfection duck call in the first quarter of the twentieth century. It is made from a light weight wood and stained and gold banded. The wedge block and the reed may be replacements. The call is in near mint condition, but it does have a tiny crack at the mouthpiece that is stable and does not detract and is mentioned only for complete disclosure. This call is by an unknown Illinois maker and is pictured in the unknown section of the Illinois book. Originally from the collection of Kent Bowers, Bowers has confirmed that the call is very old. When he acquired it from Gene Knonpasek years ago, it was dried out and had paint splatters on the barrel. Bowers cleaned the call up and sold it to a well known collector who now consigns this call for our auction. Reference: Duck Calls of Illinois, Robert D. Christensen, p178.

L. F. Cox, Memphis, Tennessee
This box call was constructed by this famous Memphis turkey hunter for Everett Millburger who was among the earliest turkey call collectors. It has a maple box with a brass tag on the bottom that identifies Millburger as the owner, and an ebony lid that sports an inset ivory diamond. Cox has constructed only 20 box calls according to the consignor.
